Accepting Change in the World Around Us

Change is difficult for most people to accept since we are moved out of our perceived comfort zone. I think, for some, this can be an illusion since variations can move us in a positive direction.
We have had several changes in residences the past few years, with one more to come. Our choice is to see the best in this, hopefully, our last move. Acknowledging a change is also acknowledging the possible mistake that may have led to the necessity to change as we elect to forgive others who may have been a part of the change. Thus we then fully embrace the change and all its accoutrements.
As we mature in our faith, many of us choose how we worship. We can recite prayers without much thought, or we can pray intentionally for the strength to embrace what is occurring around us. With that belief, any modifications that we perceive as disruptions to our life style become easer to accept.
Pray places us in a more secure comfort zone, where we acknowledge that we are protected in the midst of any chaos we believe is nearby. Pray is action; an action that says God is in control. Prayer allows us to accept change and grow from this aberration in our schedule.
As we are truly citizens in this world, change will be a part of our lives. It is our perception of it, as terrible or good, that may lead to faulty thinking.
I believe there is a certain amount of comfort is choosing to embrace change. It becomes our teacher, leading us to accept what is or find a resolution. As we seek a resolution, we can accept the state as is or advocate to find alternatives.
Thus, I believe there are many ways to embrace the Divine and one should feel free to change their expression of faith as they grow in their Divinity. That election to grow as Divine beings is acknowledging that we do change as we mature in our faith. I know that I do not want to feel ‘stuck’ in a certain mode of worship. Growth is thus stunted. The more I am willing and flexible to say OK to change, the deeper my faith becomes and my spirituality is enriched.
CLM is a growing organization leading to profound changes in many of us. Due to  my embracing CLM, my perception of God has grown and for me this is enriching. My acceptance and acknowledgements of God does change as I mature in my belief system. Thus accepting and expecting change in my world is a motivation to know that I can love my Creator in a multitude of ways.
Love and blessings,
Rev. Dr. Barbara Christina
